From Shark Tank to Series A, BeatBox Beverages Invests in Talent to Expand in 2018 Announces New Distribution Partners in each Market

[AUSTIN, TX -- August 27th, 2018]

BeatBox Beverages first made history on ABC’s Shark Tank in 2014 by securing a $1M investment with Mark Cuban for ⅓ of their boxed party punch company. Four years later, the company has raised a $4.7m Series A, innovated with brand packaging and product offerings, hired top-level industry talent, and announces new distribution in each market. The brand is now poised to take over the rapidly growing flavored alcohol beverage category.

With the switch from spirits to beer distributors and new partnerships with Capitol Wright Distribution, HDC, Faust Distributing, Holdings LLC, Ben E. Keith, BeatBox is now available in more retailers than ever before: 7-Eleven, Spec’s Liquor, Fiesta Mart, Total Wine & Spirits, H-E-B, and more. Product updates include a completely redesigned package, the release of a 500ML Tetra Pak® carton, a 3L Beverage in a Box [BIB] and a flavor that’s taking millennials’ obsession with “pink drinks” to a new level: Pink Lemonade. The 500ML carton, which is the company’s first portable, single-serve beverage to hit the market, quickly became a best-seller.

As a part of the $4.7m Series A round, the company brought in strategic celebrity investors from the music industry, including Kevin Lyman, the founder of Vans Warped Tour; DJs GTA, Party Favor, Cut Snake; and TV personality and entrepreneur Rob Dyrdek. The brand is sponsoring music festivals including, Splash House in Palm Springs, In Bloom... in Houston, TX, Waterloo Music Festival, and Seismic Dance Event at Carson Creek Ranch in Austin.

“Music is core to the BeatBox brand, and we’re thrilled to have a growing list of partners who believe in our vision for the future” - Nick Greeninger - Director of Marketing

BeatBox also used their Series A to heavily invest in their all-star sales team, hiring the founder of Austin Eastciders Mark King, who took the Eastciders brand from inception to $12M in just 5 years. King saw tremendous potential in the BeatBox team, and believed the product was prime for innovation in the spirits category.

"I met Justin, Aimy and Brad about a year ago, at Banger’s Sausage Garden on Rainey. They presented the BeatBox Beverages product and the strategies they were putting into place at the time, from package innovation to market expansion. I really liked what I saw, along with the passion and drive of the co-founders.

Beer has been losing out to spirits and wine occasions for years, and craft beer has slowed considerably for the beer distribution network. We’re now partnering with world class beer distributors, who really specialize in grocery and convenience channels, and are looking to compete for more consumer occasions. As a small but well managed company, we’re able to be very nimble and fast to market to help keep our wholesalers on the cutting edge of innovation, particularly important among the younger consumers in the beverage alcohol space" -- Mark King

The team also brought on Jeff Chassner, former VP of Business Development at Sweetwater Brewing Company; Nick Greeninger, former Director of Marketing and Co-Founder of Saint Archer Brewing Company; Cindy Crowell, Co-Founder of Deep Eddy Vodka and Nine Banded Whiskey; and Kaycee Portscheller former National Accounts at Santa Margherita Wine.
